Q) How do I apply?
A) If you're interested in joining, please register to this site, using your character name and then you can click on the Apply for Membership link at the top right or at the bottom of the Recruitment box.
An officer will be in contact for informal chat in-game; this is just to go over the application, answer any further questions and make sure both sides are happy. Further which it may well be that we would want to play along side you as duo or within a fellowship to get a further idea of what you are like as a person in playing the game too. All new recruits stay that way for 2 weeks, after which time, if both sides agree, you will be promoted to full membership which will allow you access to our kin chests etc.
Alternatively, if you have questions that are not answered here feel free to contact an officer for an informal chat before you decide to make an application.
Q) Where would I fit in?
A) You should find that you fit in just fine if you agree with our outlook as a kin. Some of us are more vocal than others and that's perfectly normal, as we're all different. We'd hope that all members feel welcome regardless. We are happy to welcome any of your alts into the kin, but are just as happy if you wish to keep them on their own or in other kinships.
Some get excited about Chicken-play, but the same people may then take a moment to reflect on Tolkien's lore, or like to PVMP or RAID. Our interests as members may differ, overlap, and change over time (or depend on the night, heh). The point is, we'd like you to be yourself and to allow the same for others.
Q) I'm currently a member, but I quest alot with someone in game or a friend in real life. Would I be able to recommend them to the kin?
A) Sure you can!
We would be delighted in fact. Just be sure they take a good look over the FAQ in their own time, and once they have, they can apply on this website for membership. Make sure they say in the app. though as to who recommended them
. Then it'll go from there towards accepting the app.
Q) I'm new to the game/new to a class - Is there anything in place that can help me with either?
A) We have recently ( October '08 ) began a voluntary "Mentorship". So experianced players of the game/class can volunteer themselves as Mentors and act as the go to person if you have a question about the game/class.
However this is not to detract from others equally being helpful. But its handy to know who to ask directly if you want - But don't be afraid to ask others too.
A list of current Mentors can be found within the stickied thread within the CLASSES forum (You'll need kin membership to access this forum).
